Subeta vs Marapets

Filed under: Subeta — admin @ 3:12 pm

As 2007 comes closer to an end, Marapets seems to be on the decline while Subeta continues to grow. Let’s take a look at these stats:

Subeta: 1050 online
Marapets: Players Online: 1,597

Marapets currently claims to have over 2.5 million users where Subeta has 183,029 users. Shouldn’t Marapets have a lot more users online for having over 2.5 million users registered - or are a lot of their accounts frozen / deleted? Well, we know Subeta has true stats because they would have at least 400,000 members if they never deleted inactive accounts.

So, with 2008 coming closer and closer everyday, will Subeta finally defeat Marapets and give them a run for their money - or will Marapets continue to dominate the virtual pets industry? One thing is for certain though; Subeta has better art and is more attractive, where Marapets isn’t all that attractive and its art needs to be revamped.

Now, we have to compare both sites (search engine rankings wise):
Marapets tries its hardest to rank for all the major keywords on the internet such as; games, dress up games, virtual pets, virtual pet, pets, adopt a virtual pet, where Subeta doesn’t. Subeta barely ranks for any of the major keywords in our niche, however; they continue to grow and appeal to users of all ages. Why do you think this is?

Subeta and Marapets as a business:
Marapets’ owner doesn’t claim to run marapets as a business, however; from all the advertisements + account upgrades you can tell its being run as a business, where Subeta just has gold accounts - which pay for all their servers.

Server problems:
If Subeta is to surpass Marapets in the new year then they need to fix their server problems and try to stay up all the time. Their server is constantly going down where Marapets’ servers are always up (at least 100% of the time).

What do you guys think about Subeta and Marapets? What pet site do you think is better?

Subeta servers finally fixed?

Filed under: Subeta — admin @ 1:33 am

Keith has recently posted on the news that the following bugs were fixed on Subeta:

These bugs have been fixed:
* Active Pet (now set right when you change it. Should fix galactic quests, and hydrus quests changing the wrong pet)
* Tons of MySQL errors (report this number etc)
* Pet Training
* Item Identifier. There was a cache issue that was resolved.

So, since the MySQL errors were fixed - does this mean Subeta will now have less downtime and have the great uptime like it used to have? Well, we’ll see about that and it has only been one day so far that these bugs have been fixed, but we haven’t been on Subeta all day since Keith posted that the bugs were fixed.

So, have you had any problems accessing Subeta since these bugs were fixed - or is Subeta still buggy?

Subeta servers will never be fixed

Filed under: Subeta — admin @ 9:12 pm
Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /index.php.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Why doesn’t Subeta hire someone that knows how manage servers, optimize them and get them all running without downtime? Subeta goes down at least 3 times a day so usuallly their members tend to go onto other pet sites to play - and to waste their time and wait until Subeta is back up and running. There have been at least 5 different updates regarding their servers - from adding new servers - to tweaking them so that they can run faster, however; everytime they post something regarding their servers, their servers tend to go back down once in a while. What gives Subeta? Don’t you guys have enough money to hire a server administrator if you have hired programming firm to recode the whole game?

We really like Subeta, but the constant downtime is really killing us. Why can’t they actually have reliable uptime for a change? They used to be one of the best pet sites out there - and still is, but their servers have to go. We need better servers, or at least; servers that are up all the time.

Do you guys agree with us?
