Growth is easy

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 9:03 am

Do you guys think its hard to grow your virtual pet site from 50 users online to 100 users online in 2 months? Well, it’s not hard at all. We’ve made Rescreatu grow from 50 new users a day to over 100 new users a day as well as peaking to over 100 users online. Not only has Rescreatu shown tremendous growth over the past few months, it will be the next bigger pet site. Marapets grew fast as well, and they’re receiving 7,000 - 10,000 new users a day, you can too.

If you want to become a larger pet site, then you need to know what works and how to promote your pet site. Are you letting your users refer for you or are you relying on the search engines to help attract new members to your pet game? Search engines are an excellent way to attract new users to your pet site, however; if you don’t know what users are searching for, then you’re out of lucky. We know what users are searching for if they’re looking for a new pet site to play, so we’ll tell you.

The following keywords are usually used to find new pet sites: virtual pets, pet games, virtual pet, virtual pet sites, virtual pet site, virtual pet game, web game, pets, virtual web game, etc. Those are the top keywords for uses searching for pet games, though - and if you want to attract over 100 or 7,000 new users a day, then you need to finish up your pet site and make sure it appeals to the masses. Remember; once you have the members, it’s only uphill from there. Don’t ever look bad. Growth is simple guys, and remember; always work on your pet site even if it appeals to the masses. Don’t let up.

If your pet stops making money, then work on it again. Growth is simple like we’ve stated before, and if users start to leave, then you’re doing something wrong and you better fix it before its too late. Release new games, features, items, pets and more so that users continue to come back for more. A pet site can be addicting as can flash games, so what are you waiting for? Why don’t you go out and promote your pet site?

Making money from your virtual pet site

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 7:44 pm

The best way for virtual pet site owners to make money from their virtual pet site is by having your site which is a advertising company (by google) that pays publishers via clicks, ECPM (the higher eCPM your pet site has the higher your earnings will be), however; you need to know one important fact. Adsense stinks if your virtual pet site doesn’t have enough content opened to the search engines or guests - as adsense’ bots need to crawl your sites pages to display relevant ads to your pet site.

Neopets and Marapets both use Adsense as one of their advertising company, however; if you want to diverse your advertising revenue, then be sure to look for other solutions. You may want to look into CPM (cost per thousand) programs such as ValueClick, TribalFusion, CasaleMedia, etc… These programs all pay based on your games page views. Each advertisement you place will have a rate. Lets say its .25/CPM. That is 25 cents you earn per every 1,000 impressions. This is often a good option for pet games as they generate tons of page views but do not require users to click on the ads.

Most games will have the option to “donate” for special features and items. Please realize that these are not really donations, and you do have to pay taxes on them. For “donations” to work well you need a good system in place. You should use paypal IPN to instantly communicate between your server and paypal so you can provide real time transactions. When designing packages for users to buy, try to make them appealing but don’t make it unfair for players who cannot afford to donate.

Sparking controversy for your pet site

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 2:35 am

Have you ever tried to spark some type of controversy with your pet site? Did you introduce a feature or two that you thought you cause a great impact on the virtual pet community? We all know Subeta and Marapets have strived and flourished from controversity. Subeta was attacked by the chans for introducing the “longcat” item and was raided by the chans for about two weeks or so. Not only did this help Subeta spark controversy - it also helped them out by creating a new buzz for them, which also; attracted new members.

Marapets has strived from creating bad publicity in the past from “having” stolen flash games according to yamipoli but since then Marapets has gone from having stolen flash games to having its own flash games created by their flash programmers. Not only by sparking controversity you help your pet site create a buzz, you may even create some type of hype.

Remember folks: publicity is publicity whether it is bad or good - because if you can get users talking about pet site, then your users online - and traffic will go up by a lot. If you don’t think controversy helps your pet site, then just ask Subeta how it works because they continue to have publicity from firing their staff members and by its owner being gay, however; that’s not the point. What other virtual pet site owner do you know is gay and loves to tell his/her members that he/she is gay? None, and that’s correct.

If a pet site grew based upon controversy and not features, then Subeta would get our vote. What are your views on sparking controversy to build some type of hype for your virtual pet site? Is it worth it or does it hurt your virtual pet site in the long run?
