The death of Jadedneo
The epic tale of Jadedneo.com began during the middle of 2004.
It leads through many controversies, fans and even haters. As being one of the early Neopets related sites, it had caught the eyes of many fellow Neopians and became one of the main icons for Neopets fan sites. The site, started as a personal website, began providing graphics, generators and not long after, bits of computer related knowledge sections, and of course, not mentioning Neopets articles.
As an average number of 3000, it was the amount of visitors that came to the
site each day. It was ranked number one in many topsites and also turned out
to be the most worthwhile site to be affiliated with. The owner, Tamara,
also known as Jaded, is an average mother from Canada, with a family to look
after, but had the time and will to raise her site by spending most of her
days creating free graphics for visitors to use.
Controversies collided into the site when she was accused of ‘posting
pornography’ due to the layout for the site. It had been noted that during a
month, she had images of woman posing out sexual parts and even having a
baby coming out, but Tamara claimed it as ‘a layout to celebrate Mother’s
Day’. There had been times when she had layouts of satanic creatures such
as vampires and dragons, and created even more dilemma. Many young visitors
had been claiming it to be too scary and mature. During this time, Tamara
received most of her hate mails and even posted some on the site.
Another highlighted event happening was during late 2006, when the site
started sending out viruses. If you ever browsed the site during that time,
you will randomly get attacked by a virus and forced to leave it. Tamara had
cleared the problem up and excused herself for her site had been silently
hacked into. This caused a lot of visitors to leave and even caused many
threats in forums as a hot topic.
After a year or so, Jadedneo began having frequent reports of closing down
but then ended up with a different name. There was a time when it was known
as ‘Jaded Graphix’ but then got closed again and turned back to ‘Jadedneo’.
These little events had been going on for a while now.
During late 2007, when Jadedneo was nearly reaching its peak again, it was
closed again and maybe for the last time. It was claimed to be because of
not having enough time and money to support it so all of her graphics had
been deleted. There are not many reports of it being opened for a while now,
but if the site is searched on Whois, it notes that the site expires in
2008. so we’ll just have to wait and see!

Even though I wouldn’t say Vampires and Dragons were satanic creatures, rather than fantasy creatures, I agree that the whole website sounds a bit iffy. I never visited that website though - I only used tineneo, neocolours and now jellyneo. Your post was very informative though. Keep up the good work.

Im 13, and that was the best graphics site I’ve ever used. So many neopets pages have porn and other stuff on them, and no one ever does anything about those. Besides, they were only cartoons, and weren’t offending anyone, so the stupid people should’ve just not used the site if they had a problem with it

Having used jaded for many backgrounds, cursors and various other stuff over time I can quite honestly say that there was nothing wrong with the jadedneo site. Other than the fact that it is slightly more mature in its design and layout there was never anything I saw that I found offensive. At the end of the day Jaded set up a website giving away graphics etc. It was nothing to do with neopets therefore she was free to have whatever she wished on the site.
I for one am bitterly dissapointed that the website is out of action and if your website(jesseneo) wall of shame is anything to go by you come across as just a spoilt brat who is playing a game of tit for tat, my site is better than yours. Think how you would feel if people posted rumour and scandal about you and your website and think before you slander people.

Just because someone bought the Domain; doesn’t mean it’s the owner. I know the person who bought it, and I don’t know Tamara.
She was rude, and her coding wasn’t quite up to snuff. I think she got tired of all the nay-sayers; and can’t blame her. It just gives other sites the oppurtunity to become the next biggest thing

I Hated To See That Site Close Down, The Best Damn Graphics Site On The Web For NeoPets Related Backgrounds And Lookups!Tamara Reopen The Site Show Off That HardWork Don’t Let Some Bone Head Bring You Down..Trust Me You Open That Site Back Even Under A Differant Name You Will Get Plenty Of Support.There Probably Be 5,000 Hits Or More The First Day Back.All You Have To Do Is Let It Be Known On Neo,You Will Get Visitors.*yarr*And Other Sites Can’t Hold A Tourch To Jadedneo For Graphics!

Jaded wasn’t rude. She just stated her opinion and didn’t sugar coat everything to get visitors. And that picture that everyone said was a “mother giving birth” wasn’t that, and it wasn’t porn. It didn’t show any “parts”. It only showed a mother holding her baby, and I found the picture quite good. Jaded had a style of her own. At least she didn’t copy everyone else!

i luved jadedneo.it was the best site.and little children could be mature and grow-up and not use the grafix they didnt like.i used the site daily and i know that ther was no porn,”parts”,or anything that would get anyone in trouble!And vira was rite! she never had to sugar-coat anything just to get people on the site! it was already a great site to visit.yes ther were a couple look-ups i found a little
grusome…..but,did i use them?No.cuz i didn’t go run to my mommy.i simply used a diffrent one!Its that easy kids!GROW_UP!

I think that before all the bad criticism she got for the sexual layouts she did very well as a graphics designer. It would be nice to see the site again, but she’s a mum of 4 or something so it’s a wonder she found the time before.
