Sparking controversy for your pet site

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 2:35 am

Have you ever tried to spark some type of controversy with your pet site? Did you introduce a feature or two that you thought you cause a great impact on the virtual pet community? We all know Subeta and Marapets have strived and flourished from controversity. Subeta was attacked by the chans for introducing the “longcat” item and was raided by the chans for about two weeks or so. Not only did this help Subeta spark controversy - it also helped them out by creating a new buzz for them, which also; attracted new members.

Marapets has strived from creating bad publicity in the past from “having” stolen flash games according to yamipoli but since then Marapets has gone from having stolen flash games to having its own flash games created by their flash programmers. Not only by sparking controversity you help your pet site create a buzz, you may even create some type of hype.

Remember folks: publicity is publicity whether it is bad or good - because if you can get users talking about pet site, then your users online - and traffic will go up by a lot. If you don’t think controversy helps your pet site, then just ask Subeta how it works because they continue to have publicity from firing their staff members and by its owner being gay, however; that’s not the point. What other virtual pet site owner do you know is gay and loves to tell his/her members that he/she is gay? None, and that’s correct.

If a pet site grew based upon controversy and not features, then Subeta would get our vote. What are your views on sparking controversy to build some type of hype for your virtual pet site? Is it worth it or does it hurt your virtual pet site in the long run?
