Teripets has been hacked
Teripets one of the fastest growing virtual pet sites has been hacked… The hacker has made their domain name redirect to Rescreatu and various other websites. We’re not sure how they gained access to the domain CP, but we know Teripets is coming back very soon because the whois information has been updated and the nameservers will take up to 48 hours to update for everyone. This is the second time Teripets has been hacked in the past year. Teripets will most likely see new features, art, and more to welcome back all their users. Most of their members were redirected to Rescreatu during the day, however; we’re unclear of this reason. We hope Teripets comes back soon.
Message by Chris to the users of Teripets:
Thanks for checking in with us on this matter. We are aware of the situation and I can assure you we are doing everything we can to get it fixed asap! A hijacker has gained access to the domain account and changed the DNS to a default site and is then forwarding us to a competitor. All of our accounts, mysql data, and files are safe. We are working with our domain provider to gain access back into our account and to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. If you talk to anyone that plays teripets with you please feel free to let them know what’s going on, and let them feel free to tell their friends as well. Thanks, Chris
