Zetapets safety
Safety for Zetapets
1. You need a valid e-mail address to sign up with ZetaPets.com. Please note that any other information they require from users is not personally identifiable (such as date of birth, gender, and country). Remember - do not give out personal information about yourself like your phone number, pictures of you or your family, where you live, or where you go to school without asking your parents first. Also, use only your user name when posting on the message boards or sending messages through ZetaMail.
2. Don’t ever give out your password to anyone (on or off the ZetaPets.com site). ZetaPets staff members will not ask you for your password, and they will NEVER eMail or ZetaMail you to get your password. Watch out for fake log-in screens - some people may copy the ZetaPets’ login box and post it on their personal web page(s) to trick people into entering their user names and passwords. Look at the URL - if it says anything other than www.zetapets.com, DO NOT enter your user information. If anyone does try to get you to reveal your password, please inform us immediately by using this form.
3. Be careful who you talk to on the web. If somebody says something to you, sends you something, or you see something that makes you uncomfortable, don’t look around or explore. Get your parents instead - they will know what to do. If this happens on the ZetaPets site, please let us know by using our Contact Us form and we will take the necessary action. Also, remember that nothing you write on the web is truly private - be careful and think before you type!
4. All REAL ZetaPets activities and games are contained within the ZetaPets.com site. Delete eMails, files, or web pages that you get from people you don’t really know or trust. Sometimes people post links to viruses around the Internet, even on the ZetaPets chat boards (Of course they will be deleted, but be careful), saying the links lead to other ZetaPets stuff. (For example, they claim the link is to a ZetaPets program (Used to cheat on the game), Don’t be fooled!). Links like these go to nasty viruses that can seriously damage your computer. Also, beware of fake ZetaPets “competitions” and “trades.” If they’re not located within the ZetaPets site, then they are not endorsed by ZetaPets and you are proceeding at your own risk. Don’t Forget: no one needs your password to send you an item or for any other reason!
5. Be careful about in-person meetings. Meeting up with people you meet online is not always a great idea, but if you have plans of doing so & feel you must, there are 5 very important rules you should stick to. (We & ZetaPets.com do not endorse, condone nor recommend such activity. We strongly suggest not doing things such as this. Proceed at your own risk!)
* Meet only people you feel you know well, have known for a long time, and only with your parents’ knowledge and permission.
* Meet in a public place, such as a mall.
* Go with a parent or 18+ sibling (even if you are an adult yourself)!
* Make sure the person you’re meeting is not alone, but coming with a parent/other adult.
* Stick to your feelings & subconscious. If you don’t feel like you’re safe, find a reason to exit the meeting immediately.
6. ZetaPets is completely FREE, but not all sites are. Do not ever do anything on the Internet that could cost your family money unless your parents are there to help you do it.
7. Always follow your family’s rules for the Internet. They’re there to make sure you have fun and stay safe online.
For four days now, we have not been able to sign onto zetapets… any known reason??
